Indexes enhance the query efficiency and speed up the data retrieval. However they cannot address all challenges inherent in analytical database systems. In this session, we are going to talk about the change in landscape of the databases over the last few decades. There is a need to rethink the modern data management strategies where emphasis lies on flexibility, scalability, isolation, security and compliance to name a few. Additionally, integration of Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Large Language Models (LLMs) is prompting a shift in modern database architecture, emphasizing the need for real-time data processing and analysis capabilities.
