The rapid evolution of Generative AI is transforming the software lifecycle development by incorporating different open-source tools that facilitate the transition from blueprint to deployment. In this talk we introduce different open-source Gen AI tools that can be integrated into the software development pipeline. These include: • Code Generation Tools: CodeGeeX and Codellama is designed to assist developers by generating code snippets based on natural language prompts or existing code context. • Testing Tools: Codex (not entirely open-source) it can access the OpenAI Codex API to generate code and test cases. Apart from these we will discuss how developers can elevate Hugging Face, copilot and codeium in faster code generation, debugging and documentation. By integrating these tools, developers can automate coding, improve collaboration, and accelerate prototyping, leading to more efficient and faster SDL. We also address potential challenges and ethical considerations associated with the adoption of Gen AI tools, such as bias, copyright infringement, and the risk of overreliance. By understanding these factors, developers can make informed decisions and leverage Gen AI responsibly.
