Microservices Architectural Patterns: Practical Insights
Microservices is fast becoming the de-facto architectural standard for complex applications built with scalability in mind. We will explain four different architectural patterns that covers most microservices-based applications. First we will trace the architectural evolution from API Gateways to Service Mesh pattern, and dive a bit into the emerging micro-gateway pattern. The other dominant pattern that is very important for newer applications is event-driven microservices. In this session, we'll jump straight into prototypes of these architectural patterns, and learn about the key elements of each pattern through a bit of hands-on effort. The Istio service mesh will be extensively used in this workshop while other patterns will also be adequately addressed.
